In the Italian capital, archaeologists from the French School of Rome have discovered an exceptional building that has been sought after for centuries, but which many believed was only a fable. On the terraces of the Palatine Hill, alongside the Roman Forum and not far from the Colosseum, they uncovered a unique architectural feature dating back to the time of Nero: an astonishing dining room that rotated night and day! A part of Nero’s ostentatious palace, the Domus Aurea, this constantly revolving structure was a marvel of ancient engineering.
